The Japanese Language Culture Club is a non-profit organization in New York dedicated to creating an inclusive space for Japanese members and anyone interested in Japan to connect through their shared passion for the language and culture.
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of creating emojis using Japanese characters, I designed the logo to represent a smiling face using the club's initials. The overall brand is focused on fostering a friendly, youthful, and energetic atmosphere to attract more members to the club.
The JLCC typeface is a customized display font for campaign purposes, designed to reinforce the organization's Japanese cultural roots. Inspired by the Japanese national flag, it features geometric and minimalistic design elements.
Members can create personalized avatars using the smiling face from the logo. This not only strengthens their connection with the club but also subtly promotes brand recognition as the avatars are shared and used more widely.
